Here is what is going on at the Winking Lizard Tavern for Cleveland Beer Week.

Winking Lizard Party Center

Friday October 16th Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Expedition. A vertical tasting of Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Barleywine vintages- 2009, 2006, 2001 and 1996. Ray Daniels, long time participant in the craft beer industry and currently the director of the Cicerone Certification Program, will speak about beer vintages and the qualities of properly aged beer. We’ll have a selection of artisan cheeses and various fruit to try and finish the evening with a sandwich buffet and a pint of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. The event will be from 6:30pm to 9pm. $35 per person ($30 for 2009 World Tourists). Attendees will receive a commemorative glass to mark this special event.

Tuesday October 20th Goose Island Beer and Food Pairing. Enjoy a four-course dinner with John Hall, president of Goose Island. John will be speaking about the brewery and the beers that we will be pairing: Sofie, Pere Jacques, Harvest Ale and Christmas Ale. The dinner is from 6:30pm to 9pm. The cost is $35 per person ($30 for 2009 World Tourists). SOLD OUT

Thursday October 22nd Dogfish Head Beer and Food Pairing. Adam Lambert from Dogfish Head Brewing Co. will be in town for Cleveland Beer Week and will host a special beer and food pairing with some of Dogfish Head’s occasional brews like Sah Tea, Chateau Jiahu, Theobroma and the year-round Midas Touch. The Dogfish Head Beer and Food Pairing will be on 6:30pm-9pm, $35 per person ($30 for 2009 World Tourists). It will be a fun and informative night about all things Dogfish Head! SOLD OUT

October 17th and 18th Founder’s Breakfast Stout Brunch. Saturday and Sunday come in for brunch and get ready for football! Enjoy a brunch buffet with Founder’s Breakfast Stout. $15.00 per person, 10am-2pm.

Sunday October 18th S.N.O.B.’s Brewing Demonstration. From 3pm-5pm stop in and learn some of the techniques behind brewing beer at home. The Society of Northeast Ohio Brewers will be brewing beer on the Bedford Hts patio. Sponsored by Leener’s Brew Works.

Monday October 19th Reissdorf Koelsch Keg Tapping. We’ll be serving up Reissdorf Koelsch for $4.00 pints and in .2L Reissdorf glasses for $2.50. You get to keep the glass. Starts at 5pm

Tuesday October 20th Victory Yakima Twilight with Steve German. Steve will be here to meet and greet, talk about Victory Brewing Co. and showcase their latest release, Yakima Twilight Double Dark IPA. 5pm until 7pm

Wednesday October 21st Rogue Mogul Madness with Jim Cline. We’ll have Rogue’s new winter seasonal Mogul Madness for sale and Jim Cline will be stopping in to meet and greet guests. 3pm-5pm.

Wednesday October 21st Buckeye Brewing Night. Garin returns to Miles Road for an evening of fun and fond memories of Buckeye Brewing Co.’s original location. 3 or 4 Buckeye Brewing Co. beers on tap. Starts at 5pm.

Thursday October 22nd Dogfish Head Immort Ale. With the Dogfish Head Beer and Food Pairing going on at the Party Center, we’ll be tapping a keg of Immort Ale at Bedford Hts. Stop in to try this Dogfish Head rarity.

 

Independence

Friday October 16th Cicerone Certification Exam. Ray Daniels, the director of the Cicerone Certification program will be here conducting the certification exam. Testing will be from 12pm-4pm. For more information on the Cicerone program visit www.cicerone.org.

Friday October 16th Ceremonial First Keg Tapping. The official 1st keg tapping of Cleveland Beer Week! Senator Tom Patton will tap firkins of Great Lakes and Thirsty Dog cask conditioned ales at 6pm. $4.00 pints until the firkins are empty.

Sunday October 18th John Najeway of Thirsty Dog Brewing. John Najeway, president of Thirsty Dog Brewing Co. will be here from 3pm-5pm sampling Thirsty Dog beers and talking about how his beers pair with cheese. No event fee

Monday October 19th Meet Hugh Sisson of Clipper City. Hugh Sisson, founder of Clipper City Brewing Co. will be here for a meet and greet and we’ll be tapping a firkin of cask conditioned Heavy Seas Loose Cannon. 5pm-7pm

Tuesday October 20th Dogfish Head Pint Night with Adam Lambert. Adam from Dogfish Head Brewery here for a meet and greet. $4.00 pint of 60 Minute IPA, Indian Brown Ale and Punkin Ale. 5pm-7pm. 

Wednesday October 21st Local Brewery Night. Kegs from Fat Head’s, Indigo Imp, Brew Kettle, Buckeye Brewing Co. and Great Lakes on tap tonight. Starts at 5pm

Friday October 23rd Extreme Arrogance with Greg Koch. The Arrogant Bastard himself, Greg Koch of Stone Brewing Co. will be stopping in for a meet and greet. Arrogant Bastard, Dry Hopped Arrogant Bastard, Double Bastard, Dry Hopped Double Bastard and Oaked Arrogant Bastard on tap. Begins at 5pm. Greg in at 6:30pm.

Friday October 23rd Vintage Stone Night. We’re tapping some vintage Stone kegs. Starting at 5pm, this Vintage evening will include 2006 Russian Imperial Stout, 2007 Old Guardian Barleywine, 12th Anniversary Ale and 13th Anniversary Ale. $5.00 glasses or flights. Stone CEO Greg Koch will be coming by to meet everyone around 8pm!
